Mr Nico Matlala
Mr Nico Matlala is the Founder and Chairman of ATPGROUP HOLDINGS CC (Registration No: 2007/099491/23). With over 18 years of Information Technology (IT) experience, he is a dynamic entrepreneur who has driven IT growth across Africa and globally. As a strong leader, Nico consistently delivers results in multicultural environments, leveraging cutting-edge technology and innovation to challenge the status quo and transform industries for his clients.
Nico is often handpicked by global companies because of his strong professional network, proven record of overachievement and results-driven mindset. He believes in teamwork and has successfully executed strategic business plans for his companies, his teams and international partners.
He developed a successful “Business Sales Model” that focuses on working smarter, not harder. Over his career, he has managed more than 250 alliance partners delivering outsourcing solutions across multiple sectors, including finance, mining, retail, banking, telecommunications, energy and government. His high-level consulting expertise spans professional services, IT software and hardware, and project management for some of the Top 500 global companies.
His global experience in sales, leadership, technology and strategy is matched by strong relationships with leading technology partners such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft, IBM, HP, Google, Apple, Amazon, VMware, Cisco, Dell/EMC, Red Hat, OpenText, MicroStrategy, MicroFocus, Barracuda and many more. With over 15 years in top global IT firms, Nico has gained deep insight into IT market trends and competitive landscapes.
He has also built trusted relationships with global analysts and advisors, including McKinsey, IDC, Bain, Gartner, PwC, Deloitte, EY, Alsbridge, Ovum, ISG and Forrester. Well-versed in world-class sales methodologies, Nico excels in leading high-performing teams and instilling pride in the work they deliver.
Beyond IT, Nico's career spans construction, IT consulting, logistics and business development. He is the founder of Deffinity Investment and Deffinity Africa, and also serves as a director at IMF Intelligence Services. Through dedication and hard work, he has transformed ATPGROUP into a multi-million-rand company.
Known as a seasoned deal-maker and philanthropist, Mr Matlala has a unique ability to turn businesses around and transform ordinary ventures into thriving enterprises. His vision, leadership and entrepreneurial spirit continue to inspire growth and innovation across industries.
